The NIK report on Dairy Cooperatives in 1975-75 shows that no attempt was made to expand cheese production on a nationwide scale and cheese remained a local specialty. Due to the low production in relation to the annual sales of cheeses from 6 plants: Gniezno, Łask, Ogrodzona, Tomaszów Mazowiecki, Tychy (ripened acid curd cheese) and Głogówek - (annual production in total approximately 2,000 tons), no sales of niche cheeses were activated in 1976.
