The dataset originates from a feeding experiment conducted on 40 female pigs housed in two separate pens on a commercial breeding farm. The experiment lasted approximately 108 days. The experimental group (n = 20) received a standard diet supplemented with dried and ground roots of Lepidium meyenii (500 mg/kg body weight/day; 1% of feed), whereas the control group (n = 20) received only the standard diet. The data include production traits (growth rate, feed efficiency, carcass and meat quality), transcriptomic profiles of muscle and liver associated with lipid metabolism, analysis of gene promoter methylation and protein levels, oxidative status of adipose tissue, expression of selected genes in adipose tissue, the effect of maca extract on in vitro fibroblast and adipocyte cultures, and changes in the fecal microbiome during dietary supplementation with maca.
