The dataset contains microscopy images of bovine embryos at the expanding blastocyst stage, produced in vitro under standard IVC conditions, using oocytes matured in vitro (IVM) either under control conditions or in medium supplemented with n-6 linoleic acid (LA) and n-3 α-linolenic acid (ALA) at a 3:1 ratio (75 µM : 25 µM). The embryos were fixed and subjected to the TUNEL assay according to the manufacturer’s instructions. The specimens were evaluated using a confocal microscope (LSM 880 Airyscan; Zeiss), and microscopy images were acquired using the software provided by the microscope manufacturer. Two categories of data were obtained: the number of cells in each embryo, based on DAPI staining (total cell number, inner cell mass [ICM], and trophectoderm [TE]), and the number of apoptotic blastomeres, based on TUNEL staining. Blastomere numbers were calculated from 3D reconstructions generated for each blastocyst using ImageJ (v1.54i) and images acquired with Zen software (v2.6).
The collection includes three folders containing microscopic images of bovine blastocysts from three experimental groups analyzed for total cell number and the occurrence of apoptosis using the TUNEL assay. The groups were: Bovine blastocysts TUNEL C1 IVM DMSO (23 blastocysts), Bovine blastocysts TUNEL C4 IVM CON (33 blastocysts), and Bovine blastocysts TUNEL E1 IVM+FA (30 blastocysts).

Zbiór zawiera zdjęcia mikroskopowe zarodków bydła w stadium ekspandującej blastocysty pozyskanych in vitro (IVC w warunkach standardowych) z użyciem oocytów poddanych dojrzewaniu in vitro (IVM) w warunkach kontrolnych lub w medium suplementowanym kwasami tłuszczowymi n6 LA/n3 ALA w stosunku 3:1 (75µM: 25µM). Zarodki utrwalono i poddano procedurze TUNEL zgodnie z wytycznymi producenta.
Bovine blastocysts TUNEL C1 IVM DMSO (23 blastocysty), 2. Bovine blastocysts TUNEL C4 IVM CON (33 blastocysty) oraz 3. Bovine blastocysts TUNEL E1 IVM+FA (30 blastocyst).
