Data for the manuscript entitled: High Glucose-Induced Alterations in Regucalcin Expression in Podocytes and Their Potential Consequences.
This dataset accompanies a study investigating the expression of regucalcin (RGN) in podocytes and the effects of high-glucose (HG) conditions on its regulation. The results confirm RGN expression in podocytes and demonstrate its dysregulation at both the mRNA and protein levels under HG conditions. Furthermore, the dataset includes analyses of RGN subcellular localization and its significant association with sarco/endoplasmic reticulum Ca²⁺-ATPase (SERCA), a key enzyme involved in endoplasmic reticulum (ER) calcium storage and the ER stress response. Altered RGN expression in podocytes exposed to high glucose may contribute to the progression of diabetic kidney disease (DKD), potentially through disruption of intracellular calcium homeostasis.
These data were used to generate Figures 1 and 3 of the manuscript. All data corresponding to these figures are included in the file “Figure_1_3”.
