The research aimed to determine the influence of technological parameters of the machining process as well as the geometry of the cutting tool edge on the chip temperature in the milling area. This process aimed to obtain new knowledge on the phenomena and observations on chip temperature during milling of Magnesium alloys. Temperature is one pf the key machinability factors in working magnesium alloys. Moreover, it poses an interesting cognitive problem. The research was conducted using modern tools and machines tools in the parameter range described as High Speed Machining. In experimental works the following Magnesium alloys were used: AZ91D and AZ31. Additionally, simulations using artificial neural networks were used to determine the dependency between the analysed index (chip temperature) and technological parameters and cutting tool edge geometry. An additional objective was to perform a statistical analysis of the obtained results. The research were carried out on an Avia VMC 800 HS milling center. The Flir SC6000HS camera was used in the thermovision research.
The acquired data was saved in the format resulting from the measuring device used - Research IR program - *.ats format. Another available format for saving and processing data that was used in the scientific activity and deposited repository is: *.csv and *ods open format. The data included concern the change of cutting speed, AZ91D alloy and the two tools used.
W celach dodatkowych zostały przeprowadzone symulacje z wykorzystaniem sztucznych sieci neuronowych, określające zależność pomiędzy analizowanym wskaźnikiem (temperaturą wiórów) a parametrami technologicznymi oraz geometrią ostrza narzędzia. Kolejnym dodatkowym celem była analiza statystyczna otrzymanych wyników pomiarów temperatury wiórów. Badania prowadzono na centrum frezarskim Avia VMC 800 HS. W badaniach termowizyjnych wykorzystano kamerę Flir SC6000HS.
Pozyskiwane dane zapisywano w formacie wynikającym z wykorzystanego urządzenia pomiarowego – program Research IR - format *.ats.
