Ankieta jest częścią projektu „DIGITISLAM - Cyfrowy islam w Europie: Udział muzułmanów w religijnej przestrzeni internetowej” (2021/03/Y/HS2/00252) finansowanego ze środków przyznanych przez Narodowe Centrum Nauki w konkursie CHANSE Transformations: Social and Cultural Dynamics in the Digital Age.
Część polska wykonywana jest w Zakładzie Bliskiego Wschodu i Azji Środkowej Szkoły Głównej Handlowej w Warszawie – kierownik projektu: dr hab., prof. SGH Katarzyna Górak-Sosnowska, wykonawcy: dr Mateusz Chudziak, dr Joanna Krotofil (UJ), mgr Iga Wermińska-Wiśnicka (SGH). Celem badania było ustalenie roli, jaką odgrywa Internet w życiu duchowym i społecznym polskich muzułmanów, a także zebranie podstawowych danych demograficznych. Samą ankietę przeprowadzono online, za pośrednictwem platformy Qualtrics. Rekrutacji respondentów dokonano poprzez opublikowanie anonimowego linku na dziewięciu grupach dyskusyjnych dla polskich muzułmanów na Facebooku. W badaniu wzięło udział 76 osób w okresie od 24 listopada 2023 r. do 12 stycznia 2024 r.
Ankieta była dobrowolna i anonimowa.
