The dataset comprises the results of studies on the biomechanics of wheelchair propulsion using drive systems incorporating mechanical transmissions. Three prototype solutions were examined, each characterized by a distinct gear ratio. The designations and detailed descriptions of the experimental variants are provided in the accompanying file: “Read me”.
The primary objective of the research was to assess the efficiency of the propulsion process under varying gear ratios between the wheel and the pushrims. Depending on the experimental variant, the following measurements were carried out: wheelchair dynamometer testing, motion capture, surface electromyography, and metabolic parameter assessment.
