This Monday, March 23, 2026 at 9.00 AM CET, we schedule to restart the repository's server. W kindly ask you to finish your work earlier and save the results. Working with datasets during restart may result in the loss of unsaved information.
With the NCN reporting period nearing, we would appreciate it if you could send your data for review with sufficient lead time. Unfortunately, we will not be able to guarantee priority processing for all datasets received at once.
If you don't see your institution, add your dataset to the main dataverse named "RepOD".

This dataset contains experimental data supporting the publication “Biomarker Discovery in Childhood Asthma: A Pilot Study of Serum Metabolite Analysis for IgE-Dependent Allergy”. The study was funded by grant no. 2021/43/O/NZ5/00480 from the National Science Centre, Poland
The purpose of the study was to compare metabolite concentrations in serum samples between 13 children with asthma and IgE-dependent allergy and 10 without asthma and IgE-dependent allergy, aged between 6 months and 5 years.
In the study of the 188 metabolites, 131 were determined in the samples and additionally, 48 sums and ratios of metabolites were calculated. Significant differences were found for the 6 metabolites of sphingolipids and glycerophospholipids and the ratio of serotonin synthesis.
The dataset provides comprehensive evidence that serum metabolite concentrations differ between children under five with asthma and IgE-dependent allergy, and children under five without asthma or IgE-dependent allergy. A multiclassifier integrating PC 40:4 and the serotonin synthesis ratio is a promising biomarker for diagnosing childhood asthma accompanied by IgE-dependent allergy.
