Description

This dataset contains raw data from the analyses published in the article entitled „Exploring the Impact of Intermolecular Interactions on the Glassy Phase Formation of Twist-Bend Liquid Crystal Dimers: Insights from Dielectric Studies in Molecules 2023, 28, 7441. https://doi.org/10.3390/molecules28217441.

The data include the raw dielectric spectra for symmetric (CBS7SCB) and asymmetric (CBS7OCB) dimers as a function of temperature and frequencies of the measuring field (frequencies from 10 to 2× 10 9 Hz). The files from dielectric measurements are in a file with the extension data. The individual file denotes the measurement at a particular temperature, the first column contains the frequencies, the second the real permittivity, and the third the imaginary permittivity. Temperatures in kelvins are given in the header of the first column.

For better deconvolution of the modes in the dielectric spectra, we used permittivity derivatives vs. ln(f). We used the OrginLab program (OriginPro 2023) for analysis the dielectric spectra. The file in “opju” extension contain derivatives of the real permittivity vs frequency for different temperatures, The frequency range spanning from 10 Hz to 1 GH and temperatures range from 389K to 316K, in cooling cycle with rate 1  /min.

The catalogue contain the raw dielectric data for symmetric (CBS7SCB) dimer. The CBS7SCB dimer consist with the two mesogenic group based on cyanobiphenyl and two bridge connecting the mesogen and aliphatic linker contains a sulphur atoms on both sides, the linker - contains 7 carbon atoms in the aliphatic chain. Dielectric spectra as a function of temperature and frequencies of the measuring field (frequencies from 10 to 2× 109 Hz). Dielectric spectra are in a files with the extension data. The individual file denotes the measurement at a particular temperature, the first column contains the frequencies, the second the real permittivity, and the third the imaginary permittivity. These measurements were performed using two impedance/ network analysers, specifically the HP4I92A and HP4I95A. Data are for a planar aligned sample.
