Data obtained during the implementation of the second path of research experiments (bioleaching with the use of A. thiooxidans bacteria and C. merolae microalgae) of the project entitled "Biological recovery of metals from used lithium-ion batteries with the use of extremophilic microorganisms" financed by the grant Miniatura 6 of the National Science Center (NCN) 2022/06/X/ST10/00230.
The aim of the research was to determine the potential of biological methods using extremophilic microorganisms to recover metals from waste lithium-ion batteries - cobalt, copper, lithium and nickel. The dataset contains the results of research conducted in this area. As part of the experiments, the metal recovery rates from the battery powder were determined by the metal concentrations in the starting material and solutions after bioleaching using the ICP-OES method. In addition, the quantitative and qualitative composition of the battery powder and residues after bioleaching by SEM-EDS and XRD methods was established. During the bioleaching tests, the pH of the solutions was measured at intervals corresponding to the metal determinations and analyzed in terms of the effect of pH on the Co, Cu, Li and N extraction efficiency. The README file contains a description and explanation of all deposited files.
