Files include the data presented in the manuscript entitled "Calcium and strontium phytate particles as a potential drug delivery system for prolonged release of risedronate" by M. Sandomierski et al. (https://doi.org/10.1016/j.jddst.2023.104176).
The results concern the characteristics of new osteoporosis drug carriers. In this work, for the first time, a carrier based on calcium and strontium phytate particles was prepared. These metals were selected because they are non-toxic and have positive effect in the treatment of osteoporosis. The obtained materials were characterized using many research techniques (Zeta potential, FT-IR, Raman, TGA). The conducted research confirms successful synthesis of calcium and strontium phytate particles and effective retention of the drug on the surface of prepared phytates. The research carried out shows how the used cation influence sorption and desorption properties. Drug desorption profiles shows that RSD is released gradually, which may favorably affect its bioavailability.
