The deposited data were collected as part of the research project entitled ‘Wpływ złożonej modyfikacji fizykochemicznej środowiska glebowego na mobilność metali, metaloidów i herbicydów - badania laboratoryjne’, eng. ‘The impact of complex physicochemical modification of the soil environment on the mobility of metals, metalloids and herbicides - laboratory tests’, financed by the National Science Centre, Poland as part of the project under the OPUS 21 call (project no. 2021/41/B/NZ9/03059).
The main objective of the research was to explore immobilization mechanism of metals (cadmium, Cd, and copper, Cu), metalloids (arsenic, As, and selenium, Se), and herbicides (diuron, DCMU, and glyphosate, GLY) on different adsorbents: zeolite Na-X and its precursor - high-carbon fly ash HiC FA. The research was conducted in multicomponent solutions, i.e., containing two pollutants at the same time, as well as after solid modification with polymers (cationic polyacrylamide, anionic polyacrylamide and bacterial exopolysaccharide).
The research was conducted between 1 April 2022 and 31 May 2024, at the Institute of Agrophysics of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Lublin (Poland). Some experiments were also performed in Lublin University of Technology, Department of Building Materials Engineering and Geoengineering, Faculty of Civil Engineering and Architecture and also Maria-Curie Skłodowska University, Faculty of Biology and Biotechnology, Department of Genetics and Microbiology and Faculty of Chemistry. The collection contains the results of (1) adsorption studies of Cd, Cu, As, Se ions as well as DCMU and GLY on the selected solids, (2) characteristics of adsorbents, (3) tests on complexation of adsorbates with polymers and (4) desorption study.
The attached files have been compressed to *.zip format. The dataset consists of the following files:
- Adsorption.zip – raw data for the determination of adsorbed amounts of Cd, Cu, As, Se ions, DCMU and GLY on Na-X and HiC FA, with and without polymers as well as for determination of elemental composition (EDS, XPS), surface functional groups (FTIR) of the solids after adsorption (.xlsx, .docx).
- Characteristics.zip – raw data on the measurements of nitrogen adsorption/desorption (isotherms, pore size distribution), morphology (SEM), surface charge (potentiometric titration), elemental composition (EDS) and phase composition (XRD) of Na-X and HiC FA (.xlsx, .docx, .jpg, .tiff) (.xlsx, .jpg, .tiff)
- Complexation.zip – raw data of the complexation determination of Cd, Cu, As, Se ions, DCMU and GLY with polymers (.xlsx).
- Desorption.zip – raw data of the desorption of Cd, Cu, As, Se ions, DCMU and GLY from Na-X and HiC FA, with and without polymers (.xlsx).
The data was compiled on the basis of laboratory tests.
