With the NCN reporting period nearing, we would appreciate it if you could send your data for review with sufficient lead time. Unfortunately, we will not be able to guarantee priority processing for all datasets received at once.

The dataset contains the results of measurements of the braking distance of balls in layers of viscous liquids, depending on the acceleration distance on an inclined plane. Four viscous liquids were tested (glycerin, liquid soap, multiflower honey, and pine honey), resulting in a dataset containing 4 files. Six balls were used in the study: five steel bearing balls (with diameters of 10, 12.75, 13, 16, and 20 mm) and one cemented ‘wolfram’ carbide ball (with a diameter of 10 mm). A power-law viscosity index n, which appears in the generalized Stokes equation and the Ostwald–Weale equation, was fitted to each liquid. The case n=1 corresponds to the usual Stokes equation, as well as to Aristotle's ancient proportion of motion from Book VII of his Physics.
viscous drag, drag proportional to velocity, Aristotle's proportion of motion from Book VII, Ostwald–Weale equation, power index of viscosity, pine honey
