The dataset includes the quantification of tunneling nanotubes occurrence in co-cultures of K562 or LAMA-84 cells (chronic myeloid leukemia cell lines) and HS-5 cells (bone marrow stroma cell line). Two types of HS-5 cells were used in co-cultures: HS-5 shCD44 (cells with CD44 knockdown) and HS-5 shNEG (cells transduced with a non-targeting control shRNA).
After 24 h of co-culture, cells were imaged using live-cell microscopy (Leica SP8 microscope, LAS X software) with z-stack acquisition in at least 10 fields of view. The data were analyzed manually with ImageJ software (Cell Counter plugin).
The dataset contains .tab files with the quantification results and .zip archives containing maximum intensity projection (MIP) images generated from the acquired z-stacks for each field of view. For detailed description please consult readme.txt file.
The dataset is part of a research project investigating the role of cell adhesion molecules in the tunneling nanotubes (TNT) formation and TNT-mediated transport in leukemia microenvironment, funded by the National Science Centre, Poland, under the PRELUDIUM BIS 1 program (grant number 2019/35/O/NZ3/01936).
