The dataset contains experimental data used to characterize a metronidazole-loaded hydrogel carrier and to determine the diffusion coefficient of metronidazole in the hydrogel. The deposited data include a spreadsheet and an archive containing raw HPLC chromatograms. The “Porosity and D.xlsx” file contains two worksheets: “Porowatość” (Porosity) and “Dyfuzja” (Diffusion). The “Porowatość” worksheet contains measurement results used to characterize the hydrogel material, including the mass and dimensions of the investigated samples. The “Dyfuzja” worksheet contains data on metronidazole concentrations determined by HPLC for samples collected at successive time points, together with the data and calculations used to determine the diffusion coefficient. The raw HPLC chromatographic data are collected in a single RAR archive. The chromatograms originate from quantitative analyses performed to determine the metronidazole content in samples collected during the diffusion experiment. Based on the HPLC results, metronidazole concentrations were determined and subsequently used to calculate its diffusion coefficient. The data and calculations related to this step are provided in the “Dyfuzja” worksheet of the “Porosity and D.xlsx” file. The chromatograms are stored in the Shimadzu LabSolutions Data File (.lcd) format. The .lcd files can be opened, viewed, and analyzed using Shimadzu LabSolutions software. For users without access to Shimadzu LabSolutions, PDF reports of the chromatographic analyses are also provided.
