This dataset contains research materials collected under the National Science Center (NCN) Miniatura grant, focusing on the study of Indigenous dance, performance, ceremony, and their relation to spatial imaginations, undertaken from 26.06 - 8.08. 2024 in Canada. The collection includes curated interview summaries, field sketches, and documentary photographs and videos that capture specific performative, spatial and cultural aspects of these traditions.
In accordance with the principles of research ethics and respect for Indigenous cultural sovereignty, this dataset is not a full record of the fieldwork but a selection of materials for which participants gave explicit informed consent for archiving and publication on RepOD. Highly sensitive ceremonial details and full transcripts have been intentionally excluded to ensure cultural safety and to protect sacred traditional knowledge from unauthorized dissemination. All materials are shared under the CC BY-NC license.
The data is subject to an embargo to protect the ongoing research process and planned publications. This dataset may serve as a resource for researchers studying Indigenous dance, performance, ceremony, and spatial relations. It is intended to support further study and analysis of Indigenous dance and movement practices and spatial relations.
