The deposited data were collected as part of the research project entitled ‘Wpływ złożonej modyfikacji fizykochemicznej środowiska glebowego na mobilność metali, metaloidów i herbicydów - badania laboratoryjne’, eng. ‘The impact of complex physicochemical modification of the soil environment on the mobility of metals, metalloids and herbicides - laboratory tests’, financed by the National Science Centre, Poland as part of the project under the OPUS 21 call (project no. 2021/41/B/NZ9/03059). Furthermore, it was supported by the Slovak Scientific Grant Agency No. VEGA 2/0065/24 and by the Slovak Research and Development Agency No. APVV-21-0089.
The main objective of the research was to examine the hydrophysical properties of selected soils and the effects of adding zeolite materials to them. The selected materials for the research were HiC FA high-carbon fly ash, Na-P1 zeolite and Na-P1(C) zeolite-carbon composite.
The research was conducted between 10 February 2023 and 15 September 2023, at the Institute of Agrophysics of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Lublin (Poland) and at the Institute of Hydrology of the Slovak Academy of Science in Bratislava (Slovakia). The collection contains the results of studies on the determination of the hydrophysical and chemical properties of various morphologically different soils collected in Poland and Slovakia and modified with fly ash and zeolitic materials.
The attached files have been compressed to *.zip format. The dataset consists of the following files:
- Contact_angle.zip – raw data of the determination of contact angle of soils with and without additives (.xlsx, .bmp).
- Soil_parameters.zip – raw data of the determination of granulometric composition, ash content, pH, specific surface area, total variable surface charge, bulk density and saturated hydraulic conductivity of four studied soils (.xlsx, .jpg, .bmp).
- Added_materials.zip – raw data of morphology of additives applied in this study as well as their specific surface area, micropore area, total pore volume, micropore volume, and average pore diameter (.tiff, .xlsx)
The data was compiled on the basis of laboratory tests.
The results presented in file „Contact_angle” were obtained using goniometer Drop Shape Analysis System (DSA100, Krüss, Germany).
The results presented in file „Soil_parameters” were obtained using the following research equipment: digital calliper (Milomex Ltd., Bedfordshire, UK), pHmeter (Elmetron), automatic titrator Titrino 702 SM (Metrohm).
The results presented in file „Added_materials” were obtained using the following research equipment: Scanning Electron Microscopy (Phenom ProX, Thermo Fisher Instruments, Somerset, NJ, USA), sputter coater (CCU-010 LV, Safematic GmbH, Zizers, Switzerland) and nitrogen adsorption/desorption method (ASAP 2420 analyzer, Micromeritics Inc.).
