Zbiór zawiera wyniki badań związanych z realizacją projektu Miniatura 8 pt. „Badanie defektów powierzchniowych typu „pin-hole” w szkliwach ceramicznych”.
Celem projektu było przeprowadzenie wstępnych badań pozwalających na lepsze zrozumienie mechanizmu powstawania zjawiska typu typu „pin-hole” w szkliwach ceramicznych. Ze względu na wstępny charakter prac, w niniejszym projekcie skupiono się na zbadaniu wpływu uziarnienia szkliwa na mechanizm powstawania i charakterystykę defektów typu pin-hole. Główny nacisk położono na zbadanie zjawisk zachodzących w procesie wypalania oraz charakterystykę powstającego defektu w zależności od zastosowanego uziarnienia szkliwa. Badaniom poddano szkliwo, podłoże oraz szkliwione podłoża ceramiczne po procesie wypalania. Dla przygotowanych kształtek wykonano badania grubości i chropowatości szkliwa, ilości powstających defektów w postaci otworów po procesie wypalania. Wykonano badania składu chemicznego i morfologii szkliwa w miejscu powstawania defektów (SEM/EDS) oraz analizę składu fazowego szkliwa i podłoża (XRD).Przeprowadzone wyniki badań wykazały, że uziarnienie szkliwa nie wpływa bezpośrednio na mechanizm powstawania defektów powierzchniowych typu „pin-hole”, natomiast może mieć wpływ na ilość oraz rozmiar powstających defektów w warstwie szkliwa. Oznacza to, że istnieje możliwość częściowego kontrolowania tego zjawiska poprzez zastosowanie odpowiedniego uziarnienia szkliwa.
