Summary-level data from the prospective single-centre INFLACOR cohort (INFLammation After Cardiac OpeRation; ClinicalTrials.gov NCT01020409) on new-onset atrial fibrillation (NOAF) after first-time cardiac surgery with cardiopulmonary bypass in 364 adults without pre-existing atrial fibrillation (NOAF in 115, no NOAF in 249). The deposit contains nine files: genotype and allele counts for four variants associated with atrial fibrillation (PITX2 rs67249485, ZFHX3 rs2359171, TBX5 rs883079, CAV1 rs11773845) by outcome group; allelic and genotypic association statistics; Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium tests; preoperative, intraoperative and first-day clinical characteristics by outcome group; early postoperative complications and 30-day, one-year and five-year mortality by outcome group with odds ratios; the final multivariable logistic-regression model; a Python 3 script that regenerates the Hardy-Weinberg file from the genotype counts; and two PDF documentation files (a STROBE checklist with the STREGA additions for genetic association studies mapped to the associated manuscript, and a formatted version of the clinical characteristics table). All tabular files are UTF-8 CSV with a header row. No individual-level data are included, because the consent obtained from participants and the ethics approval (NKEBN/358/2007) do not permit open deposition of individual genotype data. Genotyping was performed by single-base primer extension (SNaPshot) with capillary electrophoresis; statistics were computed with Epi Info 7 and Statistica 12.
